Fitting your Iconix braces
When your custom braces are ready, you’ll come in for your fitting. Once the brackets are set, we thread a thin, flexible wire through them. This arch wire is the engine of your treatment, providing the gentle, constant pressure needed to begin moving your teeth into alignment.
Regular adjustment appointments

Iconix braces, however, are made from the same durable stainless steel but are finished with a unique, eye-catching champagne gold coating. This gold tone allows the brackets to blend much more subtly with your natural tooth colour, offering a discreet and sophisticated look during your treatment.
Iconix braces are specifically designed to be highly aesthetic and discreet, providing a subtle look compared to traditional silver metal braces. While they are not invisible (like hidden lingual braces), they offer a subtle option, allowing many patients to feel more confident smiling throughout their treatment journey.
There are several great alternatives if you are looking for discreet ways to straighten your teeth. Ceramic braces use clear or tooth-coloured brackets, which blend in with the teeth even more effectively than Iconix, but can sometimes be slightly bulkier. Lingual braces are fitted to the back surface of the teeth, making them completely invisible from the front, though they can sometimes impact speech initially. The length of time you will need to wear your Iconix braces is completely unique to your smile and depends on the specific goals we are working toward. For many of our patients, the typical journey to a straighter smile lasts between 12 and 24 months, providing ample time to move both the teeth and their roots into the ideal position.
If you only have minor crowding or a few small gaps that need closing, your treatment might be much faster, with some patients finishing their transformation in as little as 6 months. On the other hand, if we are working to correct more significant bite issues, such as an overbite or underbite, the process will naturally take a bit longer to ensure a healthy and stable result.
