Information for children
We are always happy to treat younger patients, and recommend your child sees a dentist regularly from the age of two. We are always happy to see a younger baby or give advice, and bringing your child with you to your check-ups from an early age helps them get used to visiting us at Carlton House Dental Practice.
We make your child’s visit fun, helping them feel comfortable and hopefully avoiding any nerves around dental care. Once your child reaches five or six years of age, we begin to take a more comprehensive approach. We thoroughly clean their teeth, and use a harmless dye to view the bacteria present in their mouth and give appropriate advice. One of our main roles is closely monitoring your child’s oral health as they develop, aiming to get them to adulthood with as few fillings as possible, ideally none!
Information for adults
The most common reason to visit your dentist is for your routine examination. Prevention is always better than cure so it’s important for us to take a look at your teeth and gums at least twice a year. We can spot potential problems before they get a chance to get worse and require more involved and costly treatment down the line.
We reassess your risk of dental issues and gum disease every 2-3 years, evaluating your overall oral health and showing where we need to focus to improve your healthy teeth and gums. Our focus on preventive dentistry is aided by the Denplan payment scheme, helping you budget for your routine care and encouraging you to visit regularly.
