What are dental implants?

Dental implants are highly innovative, functional and secure replacements for missing teeth. They are considered a superior restorative solution, giving you the look and feel of strong natural teeth and helping you eat, speak and smile with confidence again.

The implant itself is a small titanium post, which is inserted into your jaw to directly mimic a tooth root. Once in place, the implant fuses and bonds with the surrounding bone, creating a solid foundation for a custom-made replacement tooth.

What does dental implant treatment involve?

Step 1

We make sure you are suitable for implants, discuss your ideal results, and start planning your treatment.

Step 2

We use advanced digital scans to pinpoint the exact positions for your implants in order to achieve the best outcome.

Step 3

We place your implants into your jawbone, using local anaesthetic to ensure you stay comfortable throughout.

Step 4

When your implants have healed, we fit your custom-made crown or bridge to truly complete your new smile.

Frequently asked questions

How much do dental implants cost in Devizes?

At our dental practice in Devizes, dental implants cost from £3000.00 for implant placement and from £1800.00 for the implant-retained crown. We always give you a bespoke quote for your case at your initial consultation, and are happy to discuss our payment options with you.

How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime if they are cared for properly! The titanium implant is designed to be a permanent solution, fused to your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. The crown or bridge attached on top of your implant may need to be replaced due to natural wear and tear over time.

Am I a suitable candidate for dental implants?

You are likely a good candidate for dental implants if you are in good general and oral health, with enough bone density in your jawbone to anchor the implant securely. We always carry out a full and detailed consultation with you prior to commencing treatment, using digital scans and X-rays to ensure you are fully suitable for dental implants. We can also suggest preparatory procedures such as a bone graft if necessary.

What is the difference between a single tooth implant and All-on-4 implants?

A single tooth implant is used to replace just one missing tooth, with a single titanium implant placed in the space left behind by the natural tooth root. All-on-4 is a revolutionary treatment which uses just four implants to give you a full upper or lower arch of replacement teeth to restore your complete smile.

Does getting a dental implant hurt?

We use local anaesthetic during your dental implant surgery, so you won’t feel any pain while your implant is being placed in your jaw. After your surgery, it is normal to experience mild sensitivity and redness, but this is temporary and easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief.
